UTİB SHOWCASED TEXTILE INDUSTRY INNOVATION IN THE USA
Turkish textile companies attend the Première Vision New York fair
Uludağ Textile Exporters Association (UTİB) participated in Première Vision New York held on January 21-22, 2020. With their creative and innovative products, Turkish companies showcased the level attained by Turkish textile industry in fashion and design to the entire world through the US scene. Turkish companies introduced professionals from all over the world to their vast array of products and product groups ranging from fabrics to accessories, leather to garment and designer products.
The United States is positioned 3. among the world’s textile importing countries with total imports of 13.2 billion dollars and ranks 5. among Turkey’s textile export markets.
Uludağ Textile Exporters’ Association (UTİB) organized 16th time a national participation to the Première Vision New York fair, which will be organized for the 40. time this year.
UTİB participated in Première Vision New York, one of the foremost textile fairs in the USA on January 21-22, 2020 with a total of 21 Turkish companies. The spring / summer 2020-2021 collections of textile companies exhibited at the fair, which is deemed very important in the sector as it provides guidance in setting the main trends for each fashion season.
Turkish companies which showcased the level attained by Turkish textile industry in fashion and design to the entire world in the USA with their creative and innovative products, met with industry representatives from across the world, especially American investors, participating in the fair to promote a vast array of products and product groups ranging from fabrics to accessories, leather to garment and designer products.
The Turkish firms who took part in UTİB’s national delegation include Akın Tekstil, Almoda Altunlar Tekstil, Antik Dantel, Bims Tekstil, BZ Jakarlı Dokuma, Confetti Tekstil, Dilek Tekstil, Bez Tekstil, Hantaş Tekstil, Kimteks Tekstil, M.F. Yılmazipek Tekstil, Marsala Dokuma, Özdoku Tekstil, Özel Tekstil, Parlamış Tekstil; while individual participant firms were ATT Tekstil, Emelda Deri, Jersan Knitting, Kotonteks, Rebilteks, Sönmez ASF İplik Dokuma.
The USA is fifth among Turkey’s textile export markets
Ranking 3. among the world’s textile importing countries as of end-2018 with total imports of 13.2 billion dollars, the USA is one of the target countries in Turkey’s 2023 export strategy. The USA ranks 5th among Turkey’s textile export markets, and currently imports textile products mostly from China, South Korea and Canada. Turkey has a 2.70 percent share in the US textile imports market. The major product groups in the textile sector imported by the USA from Turkey are fabrics woven from synthetic filament yarns, non-woven fabrics, yarns made of synthetic and artificial discontinuous fibers and synthetic discontinuous fibers.
